Harmon Ray Fisher

Harmon Ray Fisher, 74, of Du Quoin, passed away at 2:19 P.M., Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Harmon Ray worked as a Chicago Transit Authority Bus Operator for twenty-five years.  He was of the Baptist faith.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.  He was a member of Local 241 ATU, Du Quoin VFW, Du Quoin American Legion, and Life Member of Disabled American Veterans.  Ray was very proud of his ten years in the Air Force.  He was also an avid fisherman.
He was born July 2, 1929 at Perry County, IL, the son of Elmer and Anna (Lehman) Fisher.
He married Darlene Bandur on December 21, 1967 at Chicago, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two sons - Alan Fisher and wife Jan of Avon, IN and Roy Fisher of Du Quoin, one brother - Loren Fisher of Tamaroa, one sister - Madgelane McReynolds of Du Quoin, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were at 1:00 P.M., Monday, July 28, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Bob Dickerson officiating.
Friends called from Noon to 1 P.M., Monday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Military rites were conducted by VFW Post 513.
